  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 whole green chili pepper
  • 1 whole red chili pepper
  • 750 g mackerel
Cut the heads off the two mackerel, remove the fins, and cut diagonally into two-inch lengths. Rinse in cold water and drain.
  • 1040 g radish
  • 1 whole onion
Peel and rinse the radish and cut it into big chunks; slice a large onion. Lay the radish and onion in the pot with the mackerel on top.
  • ⅓ cup minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • ¼ cup hot pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp sugar
Mix 1/3 cup minced garlic, 1 tbsp minced ginger, soy sauce, 1/4 cup hot pepper flakes and 2 tbsp sugar; pour over the fish.
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 stalks green onion
Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Slice three stalks green onion and the red and green chili peppers.
Turn the heat down, push the fish aside to make a well, and scoop the broth over the top. Scatter the green onion and chilies over.
Cover and simmer over low heat 30 minutes, until the radish is brownish and a little translucent.
Turn the heat to high to evaporate as much broth as possible, repeatedly scooping broth over the fish and shaking the pot so the bottom does not burn. Turn off the heat.
