Cajun-style boxed mac and cheese

Cut up the sausages; slice the red onion, garlic and scallions.

In a pat of butter cook the garlic until browned at the edges, then the onions until colored; add to the cooked noodles.

Sear the sausage for color and to render its fat and juices; toss into the noodles.

Deglaze the sausage pan with the milk and pour it in; add the cheese powder and a little Old Bay.
