Corn on the cob, microwaved in the husk

Microwave the ear of corn in its husk about three and a half minutes.

The same de-silking works without the microwave, for instance if the corn is grilled in the husk.

Take it out with a towel and grip it at the tapered end on a cutting board.

Cut off the bottom inch of the cob with a sharp, possibly serrated knife; the silk runs from the top all the way to that end, so cutting there releases every thread.

Squeeze the tapered end through the towel and push the hot cob out of the husk; it comes out with virtually no silk attached, maybe one or two rogue pieces.

Finish with a little butter and salt.
