Mix in the chocolate chips, keeping a few back for topping.
Preheat the oven to 375. Scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet with a little space between, and top each with a few chocolate chips.
Variation: shape and freeze the remaining dough and bake from frozen, adding a minute or two to the baking time.
Bake 7 to 9 minutes at 375F until pale on top with only a hint of colour at the bottom edges; do not overbake.
Let cool completely.
