Slice and bake tube cookies

Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Spoon dough by tablespoonfuls two inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, then cool one minute and remove from the sheet.

If a cookie can be rotated without breaking it is ready to move; if it squishes, let it rest longer.

Remove the cookies from the hot sheet as quickly as the recipe allows, since it keeps cooking them and affects the final texture.
