Techniques
- 250 g fresh green beans
Rinse 250 g green beans under cold running water, shake off the excess water, and cut about half an inch off each end.
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 tbsp cold water
Heat a nonstick fry pan over medium heat and pour in three tablespoons to a quarter cup of cold water.
When the water comes to a light boil, add the green beans, cover and steam about 3 minutes, until almost no water is left.
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Add a generous tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and the sliced garlic and mix; cook about 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Use only a tablespoon of oil so the garlic does not fry.
Garlic in a tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 tsp sweet smoked paprika
- sea salt
- freshly cracked black pepper
Turn off the heat, add a generous teaspoon of sweet smoked paprika, season with sea salt and black pepper, and mix until well combined. The heat is off so the paprika does not turn bitter (transcribed 'a better flavor').
- 2 wedges lemon wedges
- sitting
Plate the green beans with the garlic left in the pan, add lemon wedges and squeeze lemon juice over the top.
