- ¾ cup chocolate chips
Spread the brownie batter to the edges of the prepared pan as a thin base layer and set aside.
- 113 g unsalted room temperature butter
- 100 g granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
With a mixer, cream the room temperature butter with the granulated and brown sugar 3 to 4 minutes until light and fluffy, scraping the bowl down.
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 whole egg
- ½ tsp baking powder
Mix in the salt, vanilla and egg, scraping down until homogeneous, then the baking powder and baking soda.
Egg, vanilla and leaveners

- 160 g flour
- 1 cup summer sweet chocolate chips
Add the flour and mix on low until almost combined, then the chocolate chips for about 10 seconds; finish by hand with a spatula.
Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie layer in a dappled pattern with brownie showing through; the brownie rises in the bake into a marbled pattern.
