  • 50 g bastarma
Scrape the spiced coating off about 50 grams of bastarma and slice it into small squares.
Place the saucepan on the stove, pour in two tablespoons of olive oil and add half an onion in a medium dice; saute until softened and wilted.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ whole brown or white onion
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves
Add two minced garlic cloves and the cured meat and saute a few minutes more until cooked through.
  • 200 g canned chopped tomatoes
Add 200 grams of canned chopped tomatoes and mix everything into a sauce; cook 10 to 15 minutes until reduced.
  • 200 g cooked fava beans
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¾ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
Add 200 grams of cooked fava beans and stir together, then season with the salt, black pepper, cumin and chilli powder.
  • 1 whole egg
Spoon the bean and tomato mixture into oven safe ramekins, make a small well in the centre and crack an egg on top.
Place the ramekins on a tray and bake at 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 to 15 minutes until the eggs are cooked through.
